This weekend we are taking a trip up to San Francisco! I am so excited to go somewhere new and to get out of the heat. This will be my first "real" trip to San Francisco, since the last time I was there I was probably about 13 years old and just passing through on a road trip. The first night we are going to stay with some friends in the San Jose area and then on Friday they are taking us up to the Napa Valley for a tour of that area. After that they will drop us at our hotel. If anyone has any suggestions on things to see or good restaurants please let me know!
Now back to my mounds of laundry!

Thrifting Challenge!
I have been known to complain that it is hard to find any good treasures at our thrift shops out here and there really are not any good antique shops. So when I saw this thrifting challenge from a blogger in the U.K. http://vintagepleasure.typepad.com/vintage_pleasure/2007/07/what-can-you-ge.html , I thought I would give it a try! The goal was to find as much as you could for under 6 pounds, which is equal to about $12.35 U.S. It so happened that three of the stores I shopped at were having their annual August half price clearance sale, so that helped me out a lot!
So here is what I found for about $12.30 U.S. dollars:

Vintage Table Runner $2.00

Apron with Blue Flowers 99cents

Embroidered Hankie With Beautiful Detail $1.50

Vintage Queen Fitted Sheet $1.00

Small Pink Covered Pyrex Dish (about 12oz) $2.00

Very Old Large Pyrex Glass Baking Dish $3.00

Small Stoneware Creamer Jug 99cents
Now I can take a break from thrifting and get caught up on the housework! My hubby will appreciate that.

I can't believe June is coming to an end!
I think that I just spent about one hour filling out an application on-line for health insurance. So many questions and so much trying to remember the last time we went to the doctor! So glad I am done with that! Hoping also that we chose the right plan. A lot has happened since my last post, which sounds kind of silly since my last post was only my second post and of course a lot happened since it was TWO MONTHS AGO! I am more of a blog reader than a blogger. My husband is officially self employed now, he took the big step last month and has been adjusting to working full time from home. It has not been easy for him, with a noisy 16 month old running around and missing his friends from work. The business is growing good and it will be one year old this month. You can check out Planning Center Online at the link on my blog. I am very proud of my husband for all of his hard work and genius! Well, Hannah is awake now and we are going to have a snack and then go visit grandma and grandpa. Until next time....hopefully sooner than last time!

My Title
You may be wondering why I have titled my blog "A New Season". I have always enjoyed hearing people describe the different times of life as seasons. I am currently in the "new mom" season. Even though my Hannah is now fourteen months old, I still feel like a new mom! We are transitioning into the toddler days now, she has been walking for the last week or two. It is so fun to watch her get around, she is very confident. So that's it!! If you ever wondered if I would actually write anything in this blog, I did it! I guess I am too busy reading everyone else's blog. In this picture Hannah is showing off her scrunched up nose face!
